Finaly, after working for 2 years, I am happy to announce that IIF (Internet Investment Fund) has closed a new venture capital fund of 100 mln PLN to invest in early & growth stage technology companies in Poland. It is the biggest fund in Poland so far commited to technology ventures. You can read the press release here.
The new fund called Internet Ventures is big enough to back 20 projects and by this secures the right diversification scale to be highly profitable in the future. From another side it is backed by KFK (National Capital Fund) that secures private investors from losses. So we have a nice high-yield investment vehicle with awesome risk mitigation. Only few funds (5-7) have been closed with KFK from many applying (27). We are very happy with that distinction.
To manage the new fund greatly we have joind hands with MCI. MCI and IIF are the longest operating VC fund managers in Poland. So we bring together most experienced management teams, great success track and impressive porfolio of companies that we helped to grow or invented. Just imagine: ComArch, Travelplanet, Meble.pl, Bankier, Software Mind, JTT, BillBird (MojeRachunki), Geeva, and so on.
Tomasz Czechowicz and myself will personaly join the key management team and investment comitee of the fund. We seek to make excellent investment in the upcomming years as we did in history.
